Day 01: ARRIVAL INDORE - UJJAIN

Approx.: 55 Kms

Upon arrival at Ujjain airport/railway station, you will be received by our representative who will be there for your welcome. After a warm welcome, transfer to your already booked hotel in Ujjain.


Ujjain is also known as the temple town of Madhya Pradesh, the city is home to more than 100 temples and numerous pilgrimage sites of different eras. The biggest attraction among the temples of Ujjain is the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple. It is one of the 12 jyotirlingas, where Bhasma aarti is a daily ritual - this is what Ujjain is famous for. Ujjain is also renowned for hosting one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, Simhastha (Kumbh Mela), which occurs every 12 years on the banks of the Shipra River.


Arrive hotel and check in at the hotel (Early check in subject to the room’s availability). Proceed to visit Ujjain local city tour as under:

1. Mahakaleshwar Temple: One of the twelve Jyotirlingas, this temple is a major pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Bhasam Aarti here is particularly famous.


2. Harsiddhi Temple: A significant Shakti Peeth that attracts many devotees. It is famous among the devotees for its unique aarti ceremony involving oil lamps. Two young men ascend 30-foot pillars and light 500 diyas on each pillar in a circular pattern. It happens daily in the evening.


3. Mahakal Lok Corridor: It is also one of the famous tourist attractions in Ujjain. The length of the Corridor is more than 900 meters. It is surrounded by the old Rudrasagar Lake. Once you enter the corridor, you will see 108 pillars, around 200 statues related to Hindu mythology, and frescos that display stories of Shiva.


4. Shipra river ghat: Ujjain hosts the Kumbh Mela every 12 years, attracting millions of pilgrims who come to bathe in the holy waters of the Shipra River.


5. Sandipani Ashram: Associated with the childhood of Lord Krishna, this ashram is a serene spot for visitors.


6. Ram Ghat: A prominent bathing ghat on the Shipra River, especially crowded during festivals.


7. Bada Ganesh: is a prominent and revered temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

Day 02: UJJAIN - MANDU

Approx.: 150 Kms


Morning breakfast, check out from the hotel & proceed to Mandu.


Mandu or Mandav located on the Vindhyachal Mountain at the height of 2000 feet above Sea level, Mandu meaning the City of Joy is a small town, now best known for a fort built by Baaz Bahadur in the memory of his queen Rani Roopmati. Between 1401 and 1561 it was the important citadel of a Muslim rulers of central and north India. The city culture and its historic buildings made it a destination for architecture. Upon arrival at Mandu, check-in at the hotel. Later ,proceed for sightseeing tour of Mandu visiting the following monuments.


1. Roopmati’s Pavilion: The pavilion was originally built as an army observation post. From its hilltop perch, this graceful structure with its two pavilions was a retreat of the lovely queen, from where she could see Baz Bahadur's palace and the Narmada flowing through the Nimar plains far below.


2. Jahaz Mahal: This 120-meter-long 'Jahaz Mahal' built between two artificial lakes, Munj Talao and Kapur Talao, is an elegant two-storeyed palace. With its open pavilions, balconies overhanging the water and open terrace, Jahaz Mahal is an imaginative recreation in stones of a royal pleasure craft.


3. Hindola Mahal: An audience hall, it derives the name of 'swinging palace' from its sloping sidewalls. Superb and innovative techniques are also evident in its ornamental facade, delicate trellis work in sandstone, and beautifully moulded columns.


4. Hoshang Shah’s Tomb: It is India's first marble edifice and is adorned with a magnificently proportioned dome, marble lattice work, porticoed courts, and towers to mark the four corners of the rectangle. Shah Jehan sent four of his great architects to study the design and draw inspiration from the tomb.


5. Jami Masjid: Inspired by the great mosque of Damascus, the Jami Masjid was conceived on a grand scale, with a high plinth and a huge domed porch. One is struck by the enormousness of the building's proportions and the mosque is enclosed on all sides by huge arcades with a rich and pleasing variety in arrangements of arches, pillars, number of bays, and rows of the dome above. Day 03: MANDU - MAHESHWAR - OMKARESHWAR

MAHESHWAR is a small town situated on the banks of river Narmada river. It is known for its rich cultural heritage and spiritual significance. The town is famous for its handloom sarees and temples, which attract a large number of tourists and pilgrims every year. Maheshwar has a rich cultural and historical background. It was the capital of the Holkar dynasty, and the city has many structures that reflect their architectural style. The Holkar dynasty ruled over the region during the 18th century and contributed significantly to the development of the town.


1. Ahilya Fort & Palace: A significant historical site, this fort offers stunning views of the Narmada River and is known for its impressive architecture. This beautifully restored palace is a testament to the town’s royal history and offers insights into the life of Ahilya Bai, a revered queen known for her contributions to architecture and culture. The Ahilya fort and palace house a beautiful life-size statue of Rani Ahilyabai on a throne and a Shiva temple. This fort is also known as Ahilya Fort.


2. Raja Rajeshwari Temple: Shri Raj Rajeshwar Temple is a shivalay at present and lights 11 lamps (AKHAND DEEPAK) since many centuries said to be for ever. The rajrajeshwar mandir is believed to be the place of Somvanshiya Sahastrarjun Kartviry Arjun.


3. Narmada Ghats: The Ghats along the river provide a picturesque setting for evening aarti ceremonies and peaceful walks.


4. Handloom Weaving: Maheshwar is famous for its hand-woven Maheshwar sarees. You can visit local weavers to see the craft first hand and purchase these beautiful fabrics. Later the drive continues to Omkareshwar,

Day 04: OMKARESHWAR – INDORE Approx.: 80 Kms

Later proceed to Indore

Day 05: INDORE DEPARTURE

Morning breakfast, check-out hotel. Later drop to Indore railway station / Airport.
